Greetings,
It's that time of year again when we're all immersed in Financial Aid Nights! I know how busy this time can be—for both you and your students. You're trying to tackle all kinds of questions from your students and families and they're looking for answers because deadlines are fast-approaching. There is so much information to share and you want to have your students walk away with the key steps. What may help is a well laid out, easy-to-follow guide on how to prepare and pay for college. This year our fabulous array of new resources makes your job easier—College Step-by-Step.
Included in the suite of materials is our handout for students and families, "College Step-by-Step: Follow the Path to College." The handout is the perfect resource for your Financial Aid Nights. It walks students through the eight steps they need to take to successfully apply to, enroll in, and pay for college. You can show your students how to:
The fun design catches students' attention and walks them through the eight easy steps. Once students see how smooth the process of getting into college can be, they'll realize it is something they can accomplish!
Our handout has been so popular that we've had a hard time keeping up with the demand. And we've responded to the many requests to add a Spanish version of the handout—"Universidad—guía detallada"—is now available. We hope you'll encourage your students to use our handy guide, talk to you, and start on the path to college—one step at a time!
Let us help you open the doors to higher education for your students! To order this extremely helpful resource, visit the College Step by Step page on mygreatlakes.org at College Step-by-Step—and remember to share your feedback with me at outreachandaccess@glhec.org.
Until next time,
